Forest Therapy Sessions

What is Forest Bathing ?

This Japanese practice is a process of relaxation; known in Japan as shinrin yoku. A simple method of being calm and quiet amongst the trees, observing nature and coming into awareness of your senses.

What are the benefits of Forest Bathing?

Research has shown that being among trees and following the practices offered during a Forest Bathing session can reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and anger; strengthen the immune system; improve cardiovascular and metabolic health; and boost overall well-being.

What to expect from the sessions

The sessions are led by me, Chloe, founder of Roots Art Nature and a qualified Forest Therapy Practitioner. They can be in a group setting or on a 1:1 basis.

Each session will last up to 2 hours. We meet at Conham River car park or Oldbury Court Cafe and then take a gentle, led walk to a chosen and known area within the Forest. There will some sitting and some gentle individual body movement including slow walking. There will be a focus on the senses including touch, smell, tasting, hearing and seeing as well as noticing your breath in relation to your surroundings and being in nature. There can be time on your own (and time with others in the group if in a group setting). There can be time to reflect and share your experiences if you would like to. All of this is offered as an invitation and will be guided with nurturing care, skill and experience based around the group or individual needs. I stay near by when you are experiencing your solo time so I can be on-hand to answers questions/ offer support if needed. At the end of the session you will be led back to the meeting place where you started.
