Nature Walks /Nature Connection for Wellbeing
I run either 2 hour one -off sessions or as a 6 week course. The courses are for anyone that feels that time in nature would support their wellbeing. I have had participants attend who have physical, mental and/or SEN needs. All activities can be adjusted to be fully accessible for everyone.
The one-off walk sessions offer a brief introduction to the 5 pathways to nature connection alongside activities that then connect participants to nature and bring the theory into practice. This enables participants to really see and feel for themselves the benefits of being in and connecting to nature.
For example nature bingo, nature inspired poetry, rubbings of bark and leaves alongside the use of ID resources and apps to be able to start to understand how to really look in more detail at trees/ leaves/berries/bark and other natural objects to be able to connect more fully by building a deeper relationship, understanding and knowledge of them.
I also run 6 week courses. Each week we consider a different pathway from the 5 pathways to nature connection with activities to highlight and strengthen the understanding of each pathway.
These can include walking, mindfulness, creative activities, gardening, writing, talking and discussion.
I have held walks and classes in the following parks:
Page Park
The Nest - Staple Hill
Kingsmead Park - Yate
